03 Oct City of Jacksonville NC hosting passport fair
Are you getting close to realizing your dream to travel to Paris, London, Rome or other foreign city? One important part of making plans for a trip to any country outside the United States is obtaining a passport. If you live in Jacksonville NC and have an international trip planned but you don’t have a passport yet, you are in luck!
The City of Jacksonville Passport Agents are conducting a Passport Fair October 12 (Saturday). The fair takes place in Jacksonville City Hall at 815 New Bridge Street. Fair hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome and must show up in person. Any minors seeking a passport must be accompanied by both parents.
The city of Jacksonville offers appointments for obtaining passports Monday through Friday at the Center for Public Safety. However, some residents may find it difficult to meet standard office hours because of their work schedules. That is why this fair is being offered – so anyone needing a passport, but having work week schedule conflicts, can go through the passport process on a Saturday.
Not only that, a Spanish-speaking agent will be on hand at the fair. So, anyone who speaks Spanish but has limited English proficiency will have someone available to serve them.
